SAN ANTONIO, TX
San Antonio is where Matt and I currently live and we love it! It's a city full of culture, history, traditions and the best margaritas! It also is a city booming with new restaurants and bars being built, which means there is always a new, fun spot to try out. We are so excited to share some of our favorite restaurants, bars, and things to do with you!

TOP BRUNCH SPOTS
-NOLA: NOLA is a new restaurant downtown that serves New Orleans brunch! They have delicious beignets and live jazz music that makes you feel like your actually in New Orleans! It's also BYOB, so be sure to bring your own bottle of champagne to make your own mimosas.
-FEAST: Feast is a fun, modern restaurant in Southtown that has an eclectic menu of tapas that are perfect for sharing. They also have unique, hand-crafted cocktails that help make it the perfect brunch spot.
-WHISKEY CAKE: Whiskey Cake is located at La Cantera mall and serves one of a kind farm-to-table dishes. The chicken and waffles is my favorite for brunch!
-THE RUSTIC: The Rustic is a new, upbeat restaurant located at the Rim. Their southern comfort brunch is served family style, which allows you to try a little bit of everything! They also have live music most nights of the week!
-LA FONDA ON MAIN:La Fonda on Main is an upscale Mexican restaurant located near Southtown. They have an awesome brunch. Be sure to sit on the patio if it's nice out!
-BAKERY LORAINE: Bakery Loraine is located at the Pearl and has the best breakfast and lunch. They also are known for their fancy desserts, so save some room for a treat!
-MAGNOLIA PANCAKE HAUS:If you're looking for pancakes, this is the perfect spot to go! They serve every pancake you can think of!
-HALCYON: Halcyon is a hip coffee shop in Southtown offering great lattes, mimosas, and various brunch items.
TOP DINNER SPOTS (NEAR DOWNTOWN)
-DOWN ON GRAYSON: Down on Grayson is a modern and stylish restaurant located in the Pearl! They serve American food and they have an awesome outdoor patio.
-BOTIKA: Botika is another great place at the Pearl with an upbeat atmosphere. They serve Peruvian-Asian food and signature cocktails.
-BATTALION: Battalion is a new restaurant in Southtown serving delicious Italian dishes. It is in a restored firehouse, which gives it a unique and classic vibe!
-COOKHOUSE: Cookhouse is a quaint cajun restaurant in Southtown that serves excellent jambalaya and gumbo!
-ACENAR: Acenar is an authentic Mexican restaurant on the riverwalk with excellent margaritas! Be sure to sit on the patio overlooking the riverwalk if it is nice out.
-PAESANOS: Paesanos is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in San Antonio! It is located right on the riverwalk. You must sit outside if it is nice out!
-BOUDRO'S: Boudro's is a hip, upscale restaurant on the riverwalk serving New American dishes. Their steaks are the best and you must try their prickly pear margarita!
-TRE ENOTECA: Tre Enoteca is a new, chic, modern Italian restaurant. It's perfect for a date night or girls night out. They serve delicious pastas, excellent wine and fresh mozzarella that you MUST get for an appetizer!
-MIXTLI: Mixtli is an upscale, modern restaurant with a set menu. The menu changes periodically and features Mexican dishes paired with signature drinks. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, because they only serve 12 people a night.
TOP DINNER SPOTS (NEAR LA CANTERA)
-PIATTI: Piatti at Eilan is one of our favorite Italian spots in San Antonio. Every single one of their pastas are delicious. They also have a great happy hour!
-WHISKEY CAKE: Whiskey Cake is a farm-to-table restaurant with an upbeat vibe, delicious dishes, fun cocktails and of course awesome whiskey cake!
-SIGNATURE: Signature is a new, upscale restaurant at La Cantera Resort that is the perfect spot for a fancy date night! The food and wine is delicious and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Be sure to make a reservation, because they book up fast!
-THE RUSTIC: The Rustic is an indoor-outdoor music venue serving southern comfort food. They have live music almost every night of the week. Be sure to check out their family style brunch that is served on Saturday's and Sunday's.
-FRALO'S: Fralo's is a fun, casual, outdoor pizza spot that has live music and is also BYOB!
-HOPDODDY BURGER BAR: If you are looking for a juicy burger and a milkshake, Hopdoddy is the spot to go! Hopdoddy specializes in unique hamburgers. You also have to try to nutella milkshake! It is my favorite!
-GENERAL PUBLIC: General Public is a hip, modern spot that specializes in elevated comfort food and cocktails. They have the best happy hour in town (at 3pm all drinks on the menu are $3, at 4pm all drinks are $4 and at 5pm all drinks are $5)!
TOP BARS
-HOTEL EMMA BAR: Hotel Emma Bar is an upscale, swanky bar within Hotel Emma at the Pearl Brewery that serves signature cocktails. This is one of our favorite bars in San Antonio!
-BLUE BOX: Blue Box is another one of our favorite bars at Pearl Brewery! It is a sleek bar serving classic cocktails in a lively atmosphere. On the weekends they have a live DJ spinning!
-JAZZ TX: Jazz TX is the perfect spot to hear some live jazz music while sipping on a signature cocktail. This is a fun night night spot!
-ESQUIRE: Esquire is a unique, vintage bar with handcrafted cocktails located on the Riverwalk. Check out the downstairs area! It is has a nice and cozy atmosphere.
-1919: This bar is located in Southtown and the only way to find it is to look for the "red" light. It is a fun, speakeasy type bar with signature cocktails and a cozy atmosphere.
-GEORGE'S KEEP: George's Keep is located at Eilan Resort and has an upscale, sophisticated atmosphere with excellent specialty cocktails.
-FLOORE'S: If you're looking for live, country music then Floore's is the best place for you! This indoor/outdoor venue has country concerts every weekend for a reasonable price.
-PAT O'BRIEN'S: Pat O'brien's is located on the riverwalk and is always a good time! They have live music outside, a piano bar, and a DJ upstairs. There is literally something for everyone!
-HOWL AT THE MOON: Howl at the Moon is another lively bar on the riverwalk with dueling pianos! You are always guaranteed a fun night at Howl at the Moon.
TOP THINGS TO DO
-RIVERWALK: The San Antonio Riverwalk is a network of walking and biking paths along the San Antonio River. There are restaurants, bars and shops that line the riverwalk. You can also take a ferry ride around the riverwalk to get a tour of the city.
-FARMER'S MARKET AT THE PEARL: Every Saturday and Sunday there is a lively farmers market at the Pearl Brewery downtown, which is an area of town on the riverwalk with new, upscale restaurants and shops.
-ALAMO: If you have never been to San Antonio before, then you must see the famous Alamo and at least get a picture in front of it!
-SIX FLAGS: Six Flags amusement park is located at La Cantera.
-SAN ANTONIO ZOO: The San Antonio Zoo is fun for the whole family! Check out their website to see if they have an event while you are in town.
-THE LOCAL CRAWLER: The Local Crawler is a 15 seat pedal party bus that you and your friends can rent out to ride ride around town to do your own pub crawl! You can even bring your own drinks and snacks on the pedal party!
-FLOAT THE RIVER: Head over to New Braunfels or San Marcos to float the river! If you have never floated the river before, here's what it is all about! You get your favorite party people together, rent a tube from Rockin' R River Rides (is our favorite), bring a cooler filled with your favorite beverages, and float down the river on a 2 or 4 hour float!
TOP HOTELS
-JW MARRIOTT: The JW Marriott is one of our favorite places to stay because you feel like you are at a resort! They have an awesome pool with a lazy river, water slides and outdoor bar. They also have a beautiful golf course, delicious restaurants, and upbeat bars!
-LA CANTERA RESORT & SPA: La Cantera Resort & Spa is absolutely gorgeous! It overlooks the hill country and has a beautiful pool, new renovated spa, and great restaurants such as Signature and bars onsite! It is also right across the street from La Cantera mall, if you are in the mood to shop!
-EILAN: Eilan is located at La Cantera mall and is a charming Autograph Collection hotel by Marriott! This is where Matt and I stayed for our wedding night! They have a nice pool, relaxing spa, great restaurants such as Piatti and Sustenio, and upscale bars like George's Keep.
-HOTEL EMMA: Hotel Emma is a brand new hotel located that used to be the Pearl Brewhouse and was renovated into a luxurious hotel right on the riverwalk in the Pearl! It is absolutely stunning! Even if you don't stay the night here, be sure to check out their hotel bar that serves one of a kind cocktails!
TOP PLACES TO VISIT NEAR SAN ANTONIO
San Antonio is close to a lot of other fun cities, so if you are in town for a while be sure to check some of these places out!
-FREDERICKSBURG, TX: Fredericksburg is the wine country of Texas! It is a cute little town with a Main Street filled with restaurants and shops and of course a whole highway of wineries!
-BOERNE, TX: Boerne is a cute little city on the way to Fredericksburg that has a neat downtown with cute restaurants and shops! You must check out Cypress Grill or Peggy's on the Green for dinner; Boerne Wine Company for a glass of wine; and Ella Blue for a cute new outfit!
-GRUENE, TX: Gruene is a tiny, rustic town on the Guadalupe River that has little shops, wineries, and live music at Gruene Hall! Our favorite restaurant is the Gristmill! You must get the ribs!
-AUSTIN, TX: Austin is only an hour/hour and a half away and is the music capital as well as the capital of Texas! Check out my Austin tab for our favorite places!
